The Drop a Zero Project
What is it?
Ever thought to immortalise yourself or a loved one ,be it human or animal, in a delicately created painting, but felt it out of pockets reach? To have a painting created that would pass through the eons, the celebration of you in this moment , to be seen in the sands of time
My current market price for such an oil painting is €10,000 (60 x 90cm), but for 20 patrons I am offering to drop a zero , making it only €1000 - my 2026 painting project.
Why this project?
I truly believe art is for everyone, that we all deserve to be painted at least once. My paintings capture something about a person more than any photo can.
Each painting take me well over 300 hours but I enjoy every moment of the process, from the reference shoot and discussing it with the subject to the final brushmarks.
I love a challenge. This project gives me both – satisfaction of sharing my skills with others and challenging myself and my practise.
This is also a means for me to give back and show appreciation for all those who support my practise , both on home shores and around the world.
How to take part?
There are only 20 available slots for this project - of either one or two subjects in each painting.
These can be human or pet.
I am based in West Cork and generally shoot my own reference images for my paintings as I get to converse with the subjects and capture character in the moment. That said, this is open to an international audience, therefore photographers can be organised to capture references as per my direction and we go from there.
